Welcome to Amir Drums!
In addition to my work as a drummer on stage and in bands, I have been giving drum lessons in Arnhem and the surrounding area since 2017. Since February 2023, I have been providing lessons in my own drum studio for all ages in Arnhem North. The drum studio has 2 complete drum sets, so you can always play acoustically and as loudly as you want.
My experience is that every drummer comes to play drums for a different reason. The content of the drum lessons is therefore different for everyone: tailor-made drum lessons.
Drum lessons with Amir
My drum lessons are tailor-made, because not every method suits every student. You may understand a rhythm quickly if we work systematically from a drum book or if I write down the notes myself in large format. Maybe you will learn better if I demonstrate an exercise or if we chop the exercise into pieces.
There may be various reasons that motivate you to play drums and want to make music. For some, a drum set is simply the coolest instrument, others use it to increase musicality and others want to play along to their favorite songs or work on their band's material.
In the lessons I also teach you the theory behind the different rhythmic notations, so you quickly learn to read rhythms and you also understand how you can apply different types of notes in your playing. Together we look at how we can best organize your lessons, tailored to your wishes. For me as a drum teacher, the challenge is to find the best method for you to improve your drumming skills and achieve your goals. A more free form of teaching or just by the book, let me know where your interests lie! Together we will get the most out of your lessons.
I think it is important that you feel comfortable during drum lessons and learn, discover and have fun in a pleasant environment. In my lessons I like it when we not only play drums, but also actually make music together. I also think it is important that your musicality is increased and that you learn to open your ears. By this I mean that by listening to different instruments and types of music, you will learn to understand the role and function of drums. Of course you also learn to read notes, play drums with the right technique and play along to songs. Who are drum lessons for? In my opinion, drum lessons are for all ages! You can take drum lessons from the age of 6. For children under the age of 6 who show a clear interest in drumming, I am open to giving a trial lesson to assess whether taking drum lessons is an option. I also have a lot of experience teaching adults and I know from practice that the barrier to taking drum lessons is quite high.
